Adam Levine To NBC Execs: You Big Mad Or Nah?

Everyone from NBC executives to Republicans are chiming in about Adam Levine. Why? But first, who is Adam Levine?   Adam Noah Levine, born March 18, 1979, is an American singer-songwriter and actor.  He is the lead singer for the pop rock band Maroon 5.  Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Levine began his musical career in 1994, when he co-founded the band Kara's Flowers.  In 2002, Maroon 5 released their first album, Songs About Jane, which went multi-platinum here in the States.  Since then, they have released five more albums: It Won't Be Soon Before Long (2007), Hands All Over (2010), Overexposed (2012), V (2014), and Red Pill Blues (2017).  As part of Maroon 5, Levine has received three Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a World Music Award.

From 2011 to 2019, Levine served as a coach on NBC's reality talent show The Voice and won three times with a member of his team in Seasons 1, 5 and 9. Levine, whose net worth is $90 million, has resigned from the NBC singing competition TV show though some Republican based media outlets suspect he was forced out because of his apathetic, ungrateful attitude.

Reporter Vivek Saxena, BPR Business and Politics, wrote the following concerning the previous Voice coach, “what’s known about Levine is that he’s pretty liberal. He and his band almost ruined the Super Bowl this year by turning it into an anti-cop, anti-America fest on behalf of disgraced former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. He apparently changed his mind at the last minute.” Of course, he supported President Barak Obama and disliked Trump.  The author felt this was all applicable because “liberal Democrats tend to be very ungrateful people.  And well, ruining an important performance just because you’re mad about a rule change seems like the epitome of ungratefulness.”

Due to certain rule changes, Levine was clear he did not want to be present at the last taping of the season because he did not have any finalists on the show. One eyewitness reported Levine was “very difficult” during the entire taping, refusing opportunities to offer commentary to the other judges’ performers.  During the episode that aired, the odd coach out praised Team Blake Shelton’s Andrew Sevener, Team John Legend’s Maelyn Jarmon and Shawn Sounds, and Team Kelly Clarkson’s Rod Stokes, but host Carson Daly didn’t even go to Levine for comment after solo performances by the rest of the Top 8. NBC reports that it was his demeanor during the live performance which signaled the end.  Levine pulled a Prince on fellow coaches while singing live, he was nearly motionless — a stark contrast to his much more enthusiastic and animated colleagues.  “Adam had been checked out for a while,” notes an NBC insider, “but this was a new low.  It was essentially the straw that broke the camel’s back.”  It’s still very fuzzy whether Levine resigned or was fired but the station has announced he has officially been replaced by Gwen Stefani.  Adam’s response to all the media outlets was simply “it was time to move on.”
