It is the job of LA Vibe to report the news when we find it. July 28th, while scrolling through Facebook, a video was encountered that would have anyone bussing at the seams in laughter; especially if you have sat in a black church service for more than 10 minutes. Play was pushed, Saved Girl Summer was played and watched on repeat (you must see the fall out at the end)! The next day during our morning roundtable at the LA Vibe office, the team accomplished nothing other than laughing at none other than clean comedian, Anna Douglas.
This lady is hilarious!
As we can clearly gather from her hilarious church characters, Anna grew up in a Christian based home. She decided at an early age to run on for Jesus to see what the end gone be! Douglas began singing at the age of four and is still a faithful servant of ministry albeit spreading The Gospel through laughter. After realizing she has a special gift for making people laugh, she earned a reputation as a Christian comedian and has the prophetic and evangelistic desire to one day become a household name. The comedian is well on her way due to her request to perform by Pastor Arverta Jones in 2010 at an award banquet. Careful not to be boxed into one form of ministry, her greatest passion is singing, and it is evident through her characters such as Evangelist Red Jacket and Sister Sheer.

Beyond being able to balance the ability to scintillate and be absolutely chuckle-some at the same time, Anna is an actress, gospel mime dancer, and in 2010, she created In Tune Music and Publishing Company to stay (IN TUNE) with the business of Gospel Entertainment. In 2011, she released her first music CD called The Beginning. Douglas has opened for greats such as Patti Labelle, Tamela Mann, Marvin Sapp, Hezekiah Walker, Byron Cage, Vickie Winans, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Sapp, Dorothy Norwood, Tramaine Hawkins, Alvin Slaughter, Deitrick Haddon, Darwin Hobbs, Judy Jacobs, Shirley Caesarand more.

While the team was sitting at the table rolling at Low Key Anointed Lion King and The Little Mermaid Revival, we began finding pictures of Anna outside of her comical characters. We were totally fascinated by the transformation of Evangelist Red Jacket to Anna Douglas. We totally support her ministry goals,but LA Vibe is blogging it first- you will see her image on magazines regarding her fashion style. While some may not consider gospel comedy as evangelism, she has 242,953 likes and 276,937 followers on Facebook alone. Douglas has another 115,000 followers on Instagram. By definition, it sure looks like some good, clean, funny evangelism to us! Currently, the fashionista can be found as a featured artist on the Churchy For No Reason Comedy Tour.
