Preach Pretty Girl

Dr. Valerie Moore-Burris

I was born into a family of preachers and evangelists. My grandmother was the head of the motherboard. My grandfather was a deacon. I grew up in church. At a young age, I was savvy enough to know that the people I had intimate relationships with were not necessarily the same people on Sunday mornings. I was raised in an emotionally and sexually abusive household that saved face in the middle section every week. We had to arrive at a certain time to get a good seat. As a 12-year-old, I was publicly excommunicated early one Sunday morning, along with my younger sister, due to the actions of my mother. By 15, I squared off to fight a pastor in his office who was trying to take something that four people had done previously starting at age five. Yes, I grew up in the church. I also grew up hating the church.

Through much toil and pain, I eventually fell in love with the god that I once questioned and hated. Oftentimes, after healing, you are sent right back to assist in the place that hurt you. It may sometimes appear rebellious when you are not moved by all the emotions associated with black church. When you are not moved by the order of service…the screaming…the shouting on queue…the catch phrases: it may APPEAR rebellious when you are not easily impressed with surface interactions. But for those of us who desire the deep, are sensitive to atmospheres and can hear, there is a SOUND!

Last night, an echo of The Sound rang in the Dallas area. As a social media follower, I went for a refill, not to investigate or write. However, when the trumpet blows, the scribes must report!

Sound powerfully processed down the aisle wearing a royal blue, floor length, bowed dress with nothing more than an elegant Chanel brooch, a Michael Kors watch and her wedding ring as accessories. SIMPLE: to not draw attention away from the message. ELEGANT: to be gracefully refined and dignified while exhibiting humility before the desk. COLOR THEORY: to prophetically establish authority and presence of The Word. Dr. Valerie Moore-Burris gracefully mastered the mic.

Dr. Valerie Moore-Burris is the prophetic visionary of Valerie Moore Ministries, formally known as PVM Ministries which is based in North Carolina. The whooping, modulating powerhouse has many accolades. However, after hearing her speak personally, I am alluded to believe that her profoundest accomplishment is her husband, Bishop Under-seer!!! He will always be Bishop Under-seer to her social media following but her support, her rock, her best friend, her provider, the one God made just for her is none other than the hilarious entrepreneur, Elder Damian Burris. As serious as ministering can be, God must have a sense of humor. Whether you want a word or comical wit, these two provide jocular, frolicsome entertainment. With over 140K followers between major social media platforms, Prophetess Burris is reaching the masses and traveling the country preaching, teaching and prophesying the unadulterated Word of God across denominational boundaries with an unquestionable anointing.

Say So: I Have a Secret Conference 2019

There is so much to say about this vessel. There are so many more facets of her to be revealed. My heart could pen continually concerning her fashion sense, preaching style, the shared portion of her life’s story…listen, this lady modulated five times, over several key changes in at least 3 different octaves! In a male dominated arena, with a preaching style typically associated with men; Dr. Val is flat- footed and charismatically breaking gender boundaries behind the desk by destroying delivery restrictions on women and presenting an alternative to the definition of preaching like a pretty girl!!! Dr. Burris frequently travels around the country and is hosting a major conference, “Say So: I Have A Secret”, on October 3-5, 2019.
